I represent TX-35 in demographics and work ethic.
TX-35 deserves representation that works as hard as they do. I know this because I am an active volunteer and nonprofit member in our communities.
I was raised in the neighborhoods of South Austin and East Austin; the “rural country” of Kyle and the barrios of Mission, Texas. These communities that raised me are commonly labeled as “vulnerable”, “poor”, and “minority”, all disrespectful terms for my communities. We are not vulnerable, we are not poor, and we are not the minority. We’re rich, cultural communities full of hard work and ingenuity.
The problem isn’t us, it’s that we’re not properly represented.
